Playful Ripley V5 XT elevates trail speed and agility with balanced suspension travel
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"I’ve been riding the Ripley V5 XT build for a while, and it nails that perfect trail feel—quick to accelerate, easy to throw around, and still composed when the terrain gets chunky. The DW-Link keeps it surprisingly efficient on long climbs, and the 36SL fork adds stiffness without extra weight. Shimano’s XT Di2 shifting is super crisp and consistent, and the BikeYoke dropper has enough travel to stay out of the way on steep descents. It’s the kind of bike that makes any trail feel more fun."
We take the Ripley V5 XT out when we want a trail bike that climbs effortlessly and rewards us with lively handling on the way back down. Ibis built this version of the Ripley around DW-Link efficiency and a bump in travel, giving it 130mm of rear suspension supported by a Fox Factory Float shock and a Fox Factory 36SL fork up front. The result is a bike that feels energetic on rolling singletrack yet confident when the trail tightens or steepens. With the brand’s dialed geometry and a lightweight carbon monocoque frame, the Ripley urges us deeper into the forest and keeps the stoke high all day long.
The XT build layers on premium performance with the crisp precision of Shimano XT Di2 shifting, powerful four-piston XT brakes, and the smooth action of the BikeYoke Revive Max dropper. Size-specific kinematics ensure every rider experiences balanced traction and a centered pedaling position. Internal frame storage keeps essentials locked down with Cotopaxi’s sustainably sourced bags. Paired with durable Ibis 933 wheels and Maxxis 2.4-inch tires, the Ripley V5 XT is made for adventure—long ridge traverses, fast after-work loops, and big weekends where trail variety is the whole point.
Heads up - We do our best to keep bike specs and images current, but occasional component changes can happen without warning-and sometimes the photos might not show the exact build you'll receive. If you want to double-check the details, our Gearheads are always here to help.

Size-Specific Everything
Every rider deserves the same ride feel. Size-specific seat tube angles, suspension kinematics, chainstay length, and bottom bracket height keep the Ripley balanced and fast across all frame sizes.

5 Sizes
With 80% of riders between 5'5" and 6'0", Ibis introduced a new Extra-Medium (size 3) for a more precise fit. The Ripley now offers five sizes to better match rider proportions.

Flip It
A flip chip lets riders run 29" wheels or a mixed 29"/27.5" MX setup without compromising geometry. The Ripley ships with 29" wheels.

DW-Link Suspension
The dw-link suspension platform delivers efficient climbing and confident descending. Size-specific kinematics keep every frame size pedaling efficiently while staying smooth on rough trails.

Internal Frame Storage
Carry tools and snacks inside the frame with a water-resistant, rattle-free storage system. The easy-to-use latch works even with gloves in cold or muddy conditions. Includes two Cotopaxi-made storage bags crafted from remnant materials.

Shop The Ibis Ripley Mountain Bike

Built To Fly
Ibis Cycles started in 1981 when founder Scot Nicol opened a tiny workshop near Mendocino, California, with no big plan beyond building mountain bikes that were fun to ride and tough enough for the rough stuff. Today, from its home base in Santa Cruz, Ibis remains a small, rider-owned company focused on doing a few things really well: designing carbon and aluminum mountain bikes that climb efficiently, descend playfully, and feel lively every time you point them down the trail. With long-time owners and in-house engineering still deeply involved in the day-to-day, the brand stands for bikes that are light, durable, and above all, a blast to ride—whether you are racing, lapping local trails, or just chasing that next perfect corner.
