Fast and refined, the Ripley Bike gains carbon wheel precision for all-day trail speed
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"I love the Ripley already, but the carbon wheel upgrade really sharpens the ride. The S28 rims add stiffness and snap, while the Hydra hubs engage instantly when you stomp on the pedals. It makes the bike feel more responsive on climbs and noticeably more precise in technical terrain."
When efficiency meets trail confidence, the Ibis Ripley truly shines—and the carbon wheel upgrade takes it even further. With 130mm of DW-Link rear travel and a 140mm fork, it already balances climbing speed with playful handling. Swapping to Ibis S28 carbon wheels adds quicker acceleration, improved tracking through corners, and a more direct feel on punchy climbs.
The carbon frame’s size-specific suspension kinematics ensure consistent ride quality across the size range, while internal frame storage keeps essentials tucked away for long adventures. With the instant engagement of Industry Nine Hydra hubs and the versatility to run full 29-inch wheels or a mixed setup via the flip chip, the Ripley becomes an even more capable one-bike solution for riders who want efficiency without sacrificing fun.
Heads up - We do our best to keep bike specs and images current, but occasional component changes can happen without warning—and sometimes the photos might not show the exact build you'll receive. If you want to double-check the details, our Gearheads are always here to help.

Size-Specific Everything
Every rider deserves the same ride feel. Size-specific seat tube angles, suspension kinematics, chainstay length, and bottom bracket height keep the Ripley balanced and fast across all frame sizes.

5 Sizes
With 80% of riders between 5'5" and 6'0", Ibis introduced a new Extra-Medium (size 3) for a more precise fit. The Ripley now offers five sizes to better match rider proportions.

Flip It
A flip chip lets riders run 29" wheels or a mixed 29"/27.5" MX setup without compromising geometry. The Ripley ships with 29" wheels.

DW-Link Suspension
The dw-link suspension platform delivers efficient climbing and confident descending. Size-specific kinematics keep every frame size pedaling efficiently while staying smooth on rough trails.

Internal Frame Storage
Carry tools and snacks inside the frame with a water-resistant, rattle-free storage system. The easy-to-use latch works even with gloves in cold or muddy conditions. Includes two Cotopaxi-made storage bags crafted from remnant materials.

Built To Fly
Ibis Cycles started in 1981 when founder Scot Nicol opened a tiny workshop near Mendocino, California, with no big plan beyond building mountain bikes that were fun to ride and tough enough for the rough stuff. Today, from its home base in Santa Cruz, Ibis remains a small, rider-owned company focused on doing a few things really well: designing carbon and aluminum mountain bikes that climb efficiently, descend playfully, and feel lively every time you point them down the trail. With long-time owners and in-house engineering still deeply involved in the day-to-day, the brand stands for bikes that are light, durable, and above all, a blast to ride—whether you are racing, lapping local trails, or just chasing that next perfect corner.
