Efficient and playful, the Ripley Bike blends trail speed with DW-Link climbing performance
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"I recommend the Ripley to riders who want a bike that climbs incredibly well but still feels confident when the trail turns technical. The DW-Link suspension keeps it efficient on long ascents, and the updated geometry gives it a planted, playful feel on descents. It’s one of the best all-around trail bikes I’ve ridden."
When adventure means covering ground efficiently without giving up downhill fun, we reach for the Ibis Ripley. With 130mm of DW-Link rear travel and a 140mm fork, it strikes a rare balance between speed and confidence. Whether we’re hammering climbs, flowing through singletrack, or dropping into technical sections, the Ripley feels quick, composed, and eager to play.
The carbon frame pairs modern geometry with size-specific suspension kinematics, ensuring every size rides with the same balanced feel. Internal frame storage keeps essentials tucked away, while the flip chip allows us to run either full 29-inch wheels or a mixed setup. From big days in the saddle to spontaneous trail rides, the Ripley lives up to its “do-it-all” reputation.
Heads up - We do our best to keep bike specs and images current, but occasional component changes can happen without warning—and sometimes the photos might not show the exact build you'll receive. If you want to double-check the details, our Gearheads are always here to help.

Size-Specific Everything
Every rider deserves the same ride feel. Size-specific seat tube angles, suspension kinematics, chainstay length, and bottom bracket height keep the Ripley balanced and fast across all frame sizes.

5 Sizes
With 80% of riders between 5'5" and 6'0", Ibis introduced a new Extra-Medium (size 3) for a more precise fit. The Ripley now offers five sizes to better match rider proportions.

Flip It
A flip chip lets riders run 29" wheels or a mixed 29"/27.5" MX setup without compromising geometry. The Ripley ships with 29" wheels.

DW-Link Suspension
The dw-link suspension platform delivers efficient climbing and confident descending. Size-specific kinematics keep every frame size pedaling efficiently while staying smooth on rough trails.

Internal Frame Storage
Carry tools and snacks inside the frame with a water-resistant, rattle-free storage system. The easy-to-use latch works even with gloves in cold or muddy conditions. Includes two Cotopaxi-made storage bags crafted from remnant materials.

Built To Fly
Ibis Cycles started in 1981 when founder Scot Nicol opened a tiny workshop near Mendocino, California, with no big plan beyond building mountain bikes that were fun to ride and tough enough for the rough stuff. Today, from its home base in Santa Cruz, Ibis remains a small, rider-owned company focused on doing a few things really well: designing carbon and aluminum mountain bikes that climb efficiently, descend playfully, and feel lively every time you point them down the trail. With long-time owners and in-house engineering still deeply involved in the day-to-day, the brand stands for bikes that are light, durable, and above all, a blast to ride—whether you are racing, lapping local trails, or just chasing that next perfect corner.
