Build something serious on the Ibis Oso HD eBike Frame
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"The Ibis Oso HD Ebike Frame is what I recommend when riders want to build something truly their own. The full carbon construction, gravity tuned geometry, and modular dropout system give you a platform that is ready for whatever you want to put on it. If you are serious about building a capable gravity eMTB from the ground up, start here."
Who It's For
Custom builders and experienced riders who want to spec their own gravity eMTB.
Built for riders who already know what components they want and are looking for a frame worthy of the build. Available in four colorways, three with a shock included.
What It's For
Building a custom gravity eMTB on a carbon platform made for serious terrain.
The Oso HD Ebike Frame is the foundation for a gravity eMTB built to your spec. With 180mm of front travel, slack geometry, and Bosch CX Gen 5 motor integration, it is ready for demanding terrain.
Why We Like It
A carbon frame built for gravity riding, with the flexibility to build it your way.
The Ibis Oso HD Ebike Frame pairs full carbon construction with gravity tuned geometry and a modular dropout system for chainstay adjustment and mixed wheel size support.
Heads up. We do our best to keep bike specs and images current, but occasional component changes can happen without warning and sometimes the photos might not show the exact build you'll receive. If you want to double check the details, our Gearheads are always here to help.

Inside The Oso

Quiet Motor, Real Torque
The Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 runs quiet on the trail. It delivers high torque with natural-feeling pedal assist that responds to input rather than fighting it

All-Day Battery, More If You Need It
The internal 600Wh battery sits low in the frame, improving balance and handling. Add the optional PowerMore 250Wh extender to reach 850Wh total for longer routes

Built To Change With Your Riding
Swap the shock and fork to convert between HD, Trail and Sport travel. Bolt-on dropouts let riders fine-tune chainstay length and switch between 29" and 27.5" rear wheels

Five Sizes, All Dialed
Every frame size gets its own geometry, so the bike fits and handles correctly for your height. A new Extra Medium sits between Medium and Large, covering the height range where 80% of Ibis riders land

Full Suspension, No Compromise
dw-link suspension manages pedaling, braking and trail input independently, so the bike stays efficient on climbs and controlled on descents

Built To Fly
Ibis Cycles started in 1981 when founder Scot Nicol opened a tiny workshop near Mendocino, California, with no big plan beyond building mountain bikes that were fun to ride and tough enough for the rough stuff. Today, from its home base in Santa Cruz, Ibis remains a small, rider-owned company focused on doing a few things really well: designing carbon and aluminum mountain bikes that climb efficiently, descend playfully, and feel lively every time you point them down the trail. With long-time owners and in-house engineering still deeply involved in the day-to-day, the brand stands for bikes that are light, durable, and above all, a blast to ride—whether you are racing, lapping local trails, or just chasing that next perfect corner.
