Santa Cruz Tallboy CC Eagle 90 mountain bike with new four-bar suspension and CC carbon frame

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"The new four-bar suspension changes what the Tallboy can handle. Ten more millimeters of rear travel and a suspension platform tuned for low anti-squat keep the bike composed and traction-positive through rough sections while still climbing the way a Tallboy should."

Why We Like It

Every build in the Tallboy 6 lineup comes with CC carbon, including this one. Previous entry builds used C carbon frames, so a rider stepping up from the S or R kit is getting a genuinely better frame alongside the platform upgrade without needing to move up in drivetrain to get there.

Heads up! We do our best to keep bike specs and images current, but occasional component changes can happen without warning, and sometimes the photos might not show the exact build you'll receive. If you want to double-check the details, our Gearhead® Experts are always here to help.

Santa Cruz Tallboy

Two mountain bikers descend a steep, exposed dirt trail on a rugged mountainside, navigating a sharp switchback surrounded by dense green scrub and rocky terrain

More Trail, Less Weight

CC Carbon on every build. 300 grams saved. 10mm more travel front and rear.

What Makes The Tallboy

New VPfree Suspension

After testing 15 link iterations, Santa Cruz landed on the new four-bar platform that pedals better and descends harder than any previous Tallboy. It tracks better through rough terrain on the way up, and stays planted and controlled on the way down.

CC Carbon On Every Build

Once reserved for top-tier builds, CC Carbon is now standard across the entire Tallboy lineup. Their lightest, stiffest carbon construction delivers responsive handling and cuts 300 grams from the previous generation.

Rebuilt For More Travel

Updated geometry balances a slacker head tube angle for stability on descents with a steeper seat tube angle for power on climbs. More travel, no efficiency penalty.

The Tallboy's Hi/Lo geometry flip chip at the bottom bracket, allowing riders to toggle between a higher or slacker ride position to suit trail conditions.

Terrain Tuned Flip Chip

Two geometry settings give riders precise control over how the Tallboy feels on trail. High keeps the bike efficient on long climbs, low adds stability for technical descents.

Glovebox V2

In-frame storage keeps trail essentials accessible without adding bulk outside the frame. An improved latch and longer downtube mean more capacity and a rattle-free ride.
