Beige Gravel & Cyclocross Components

For mixed gravel and singletrack, favor wider, knobbed tires around 40–45mm to balance rollover and traction. Tubeless-ready casings help you run lower pressures for grip, and cyclocross examples like the 33mm Schwalbe X‑One R Evo show how tread choice changes cornering and mud-shedding.

If your routes include long distances and steep climbs, a wide-range 1x drivetrain with an 11–44T cassette gives a simple spread of gears and fewer shifts. Clutch-equipped derailleurs are worth considering to keep the chain secure on rough terrain, though some riders still prefer a 2x for tighter top-end ratios.

Frame geometry controls handling and fit: gravel frames typically have slacker head angles, lower bottom brackets, and longer wheelbases for stable, comfortable riding. Cyclocross geometry uses steeper head angles, higher bottom brackets with roughly 70–75mm of drop and shorter wheelbases for nimble handling and easier shouldering.

Tubeless-ready wheels and tires are a smart choice for gravel because they let you run lower pressures on 40–45mm tires for better traction while reducing pinch flats. Pairing tubeless rims with sealant also improves puncture resistance and overall ride comfort on rough roads.

Many riders opt for seatposts with adjustable offset and dropper compatibility so they can lower their saddle on steep descents and technical singletrack. Ritchey offers seatposts with adjustable offsets and dropper-ready designs, and choosing carbon or aluminum changes vibration damping and weight.
