Cervelo Bike

Frequently Asked Questions

• Which Cervélo model is best for road climbing and racing?

Cervélo’s R-Series (for example the R5) is optimized for climbing and aggressive road racing with its light, stiff frame and Pro‑Fit geometry that lowers stack for a racing position. Its Squoval Max tube shapes and high‑modulus carbon construction prioritize power transfer and low weight, so choose an R5 if you race steep terrain or want the most responsive climbing bike.
• How does the S5 aero road bike compare to the R5, and when should I pick one over the other?

The S5 is an aero‑focused road bike with larger aero tube profiles designed to reduce drag on flat and rolling courses, while the R5 emphasizes minimal weight and peak stiffness for climbing and punchy accelerations. Pick the S5 for sustained high‑speed events and flatter terrain, and the R5 if you prioritize climbing performance and a more aggressive race fit.
• What features make the P‑Series (P5) a good choice for triathlons and time trials?

The P‑Series/P5 is built for TT and triathlon with integrated aerodynamic shaping, internal storage, increased tire clearance, and an adaptable fork/stem system to fine‑tune fit and aero position. It also offers adjustable stack (up to roughly 53 mm with spacers on many P‑Series setups) and a BBright bottom bracket for torsional stiffness that benefits powerful, sustained efforts.
• How do I choose the right Cervélo frame size and dial in fit across models like the Caledonia, R5, and P‑Series?

Cervélo sizes commonly range from about 48–61 cm; the R5 uses a more aggressive (lower stack) Pro‑Fit while the Caledonia offers a taller stack/shorter reach for endurance comfort, and the P‑Series provides additional stack adjustability for tri positions. Always consult the model‑specific stack/reach charts, compare effective top tube and seat tube angles to your measurements, and consider a bike fit or test ride to confirm reach and saddle height.
