Yellow Triathlon / TT Bike Seatposts & Clamps

Measure the bike's seat tube inner diameter and match common sizes like 27.2mm, 30.9mm, 31.6mm or 34.9mm. A diameter tolerance within about 0.1mm and correct insertion length (typically 100–350mm) help prevent slippage and ensure a secure fit.

Carbon fiber is best if you want lighter weight and extra vibration damping; many carbon models weigh under 200g and smooth long rides. Aluminum posts suit rough conditions and budget-conscious builds, and brands like Syncros offer shaped aluminum posts that balance aerodynamics with durability.

Inline straight posts support a forward, aggressive aero position and can improve airflow with teardrop profiles that reduce drag roughly 5–10%. These zero-setback designs are ideal for flat, fast TT courses and non-UCI race setups where forward saddle placement is preferred.

Layback or setback posts move the saddle about 2–5cm rearward, which opens the hip angle and often increases comfort on longer efforts. Riders who need a more rearward saddle for comfort should compare setback geometry carefully and keep race rules in mind, since UCI templates often reference the saddle nose being within about 5cm of the bottom bracket.

Yes—many non-round aero posts and replacement masts require model-specific clamps to match the post profile and keep saddle rails from slipping. Models like the Quintana Roo PRseries come with the appropriate clamp hardware or service kits for round-rail saddles to ensure a proper, secure fit.
