Yellow Triathlon / TT Bike Saddles

Padded triathlon saddles with high-density foam are built for longer efforts like 70.3s and Ironman distances, offering extra comfort over standard road-style models. Models such as BIsaddle combine plush density with race-ready weights (around 282–342g) and anti-slip inserts to help you stay stable during long, sweaty finishes.

Match saddle width to your sit bone measurement, which typically falls between 120–160mm, to support the ischial tuberosities and avoid excess pressure. SQlab ergonomic tri saddles use step-shaped geometry to spread load across the sit bones while minimizing perineal contact, so choose a width that lines up with your measured spacing.

Cut-out designs like Superflow options are ideal for high-pressure aero positions because they can reduce soft-tissue load by about 20–40% and improve breathability. They work well with a level or slightly tilted nose and pair nicely with stiff carbon fiber rails for efficient power transfer in time trials.

Short-nose saddles (roughly 200–250mm in length) let you sit further forward for a more aggressive aero tuck and make it easier to shift weight during sprints or Olympic-distance efforts. Split-nose and short-wide designs also free up hip movement and, when combined with cutouts, maintain comfort without sacrificing an aerodynamic position; models like the Selle Italia Watt highlight that balance.

Look for carbon fiber rails for lightweight stiffness, high-density foam padding with textured covers for grip, and anti-slip microfiber inserts that keep you planted when conditions get sweaty. Durable reinforced bases are also common and are rated to handle heavier impacts—some designs are built to withstand rider weights up to 200kg.
