Beige Triathlon / TT Bike Cockpit

Integrated cockpits are best for long, low positions on Ironman-style efforts because one-piece molds and enclosed undersides boost aero efficiency and rigidity. Clip-on aero bars work well for short races or converting a road bike to an aero setup, offering quick install and simpler fit adjustments.

Measure shoulder width and torso length and aim to test the setup for comfort over 4+ hours, since armrest width, height, and fore-aft position affect sustainment. Many systems offer a 40cm standard armrest width and adjustable extension lengths and angles—try a few fore-aft positions before committing.

Carbon fiber extensions save weight and help damp road vibration, with premium units targeting weights under 500g for the whole cockpit component. Aluminum extensions are a durable, budget-friendly option and still pair well with adjustable arm cups and one-bolt clamps for easy tweaks.

Most modern integrated systems include internal routing and Di2 compatibility, making them tidy and electronics-ready for racing setups. Models like the PRO Missile Evo explicitly list Di2 compatibility, and Profile Design hardware is common for secure mounting on TT frames.

J-bend or ski-bend extensions are popular choices for flat, high-speed courses because they allow a low, aerodynamic posture with steep upward angles favored by pro low-and-long setups. A 12-degree J-bend is a common option for riders seeking a balance of reach and wrist comfort, while ski-bend bars like the 51 Speedshop Ski Bend suit integrated internal cabling and aggressive positions.
