Infant Snowsuits & Buntings

One-piece snowsuits are ideal for stroller time and low-mobility infants because they provide full coverage and easy on/off, often with fold-over booties for stroller comfort. Two-piece sets with adjustable pants and suspenders suit active toddlers, letting you add or remove layers for snow play.

Keep sizing loose enough to allow a midweight layer and free movement, but avoid baggy legs that can cause tripping. Many models include adjustable sleeves, hems, straps, and cuffs so sizes extend via straps and last for multiple seasons.

For all-day snow play and wet conditions, waterproof buntings—like Patagonia's breathable recycled-poly models—are best because they handle snow exposure and stay drier. Fleece buntings made from 100% recycled high-pile polyester work well for dry cold and quick indoor-outdoor transitions.

If you expect sub-zero temperatures, down-filled options such as the Columbia Infant Snuggly Bunny II deliver high warmth-to-weight, while synthetic insulation retains heat better when wet. Additionally, water- and wind-resistant shells in nylon or polyester help the insulation perform during snowy conditions.

Yes — sleeping sack conversions simplify night changes because they unzip for easy access without fully undressing the baby, and many models feature easy-zip designs and fold-over mittens. They’re especially handy for newborns who spend lots of time in strollers or cribs and when you need quick temperature adjustments.
