Girls' Green Pants

Insulated ski pants are the best choice for resort days because they pair synthetic insulation (typically 40–60g) with waterproof membranes to keep kids warm in sub-zero, snowy conditions. Models like the Patagonia Insulated Powder Bowl Pants use 40g insulation with a Gore‑Tex membrane, while the North Face Freedom Bib offers 60g Heatseeker and full over‑the‑boot coverage.

Waterproof shell pants focus on shedding heavy rain and snow with membranes rated 10,000–30,000mm and high breathability up to 25,000g/m2/24hrs, making them ideal for backcountry skiing or stormy hikes. Softshells use stretch fleece like Polartec for breathable, flexible protection in milder, variable conditions and are better for active trail hiking and climbing.

Think about activity and layering: slim or tapered fits hug the legs for mobility, wide legs fit over boots, and straight legs give balanced coverage for everyday use. Sizes run youth XS–XL and many styles include articulated knees, gusseted crotches, and adjustable waists or hems to prevent binding during active play.

Look for reinforced fabrics such as Cordura or Kevlar at knees and cuffs and 1000D nylon bottoms, which are rated to resist 5,000+ abrasion cycles for longer wear. Durable construction details like fully taped seams and heavy‑duty YKK zippers also help garments hold up in rugged use.

Prioritize features like an avalanche beacon pocket, releasable suspenders, scuff guards, and kickpatches to protect against the elements and rough terrain while adding utility. Waterproof membranes and fully taped seams combined with insulated options (40–60g) will help keep kids dry and warm on winter outings.
