Purple Arm Warmers

Merino blends like Rapha's 97% merino/3% Lycra work well on cool, variable days because they breathe, transfer moisture, and dry quickly. For windy, damp rides below 50°F pick a fleece-lined Roubaix or a rain-repellent Fiandre Norain, and use UPF 50+ UV sleeves for hot, sunny exposures.

Check your bicep and forearm measurements against the brand chart since sizing runs small to true in lines like Rapha and GOREWEAR. Elastane gives a second-skin stretch while silicone grippers and articulated elbow geometry help prevent slipping and bunching during arm pumps.

For temps from about 32°F up to 60°F, merino wool blends are ideal because they offer breathable insulation and quick-dry performance on mixed-weather rides. If conditions are damp or windy and dip below 50°F, choose fleece or Roubaix styles with a fleece inner to keep muscle temperature up.

Yes, most arm warmers are highly packable and many weigh only 50–100g per pair, so they stow easily in a jersey pocket. Lightweight models—including Rapha options—with thumb loops compress well and the silicone grippers help keep them secure when you pull them back on mid-ride.

Synthetics like 84% polyester/16% elastane combined with flatlock seams and reinforced stitching provide durable, abrasion-resistant construction for frequent use. Merino blends add natural odor resistance, while Fiandre Norain styles bring extra rain-repellent durability for wet, abrasive commuting.
