Why We Like The Ibis Ripley Deore Mountain Bike
Ibis's singletrack shredder is back with more capability and redesigned features throughout to take trail riding to the next level. The Ripley gets a 10mm bump in travel and now features 130mm of DW-Link suspension for more capability and confidence all over the mountain. A longer wheelbase and reach give us more stability and confidence on steep terrain, and the 140mm fork and 64.9-degree head tube angle make for a more aggressive front end over the previous model for more capability. Ibis came in hard with the fit and sizing improvement, now dealing the Ripley in five sizes to fit a broader range of riders and throwing in size-specific geometry for a more balanced fit and feel for every size. Another new feature of the Ripley is the mixed-wheel compatibility, allowing us to run a 27.5-inch rear wheel with the flip of the chip on the rear shock link. Finally, and with no warning, Ibis dumped on us their new internal frame storage system, which has a unique lever-action door and special edition storage bags so we can leave the backpack at home.
The Shimano Deore build sports budget-oriented but quality components to keep costs low and the stoke high. All builds come with Ibis's premium carbon frame, which has a great reputation for being durable, lightweight, and reliable. Next, Shimano's Deore drivetrain equips us with a 12-speed drivetrain that brings us a reliable and budget-focused drivetrain to excel on the trails. A Fox Factory DPS rear shock keeps us gripping the dirt, while the Fox Float 34 Performance 140mm fork does a great job at soaking up the bigger hits while keeping the weight to a minimum.
*Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be of equal or better spec level. If you have any questions, reach out to a Gearhead by chatting online or calling 1-888-276-7130.
Heads up - We do our best to keep bike specs and images current, but occasional component changes can happen without warning-and sometimes the photos might not show the exact build you'll receive. If you want to double-check the details, our Gearheads are always here to help.

Size-Specific Everything
Every rider deserves the same ride feel. Size-specific seat tube angles, suspension kinematics, chainstay length, and bottom bracket height keep the Ripley balanced and fast across all frame sizes.

5 Sizes
With 80% of riders between 5'5" and 6'0", Ibis introduced a new Extra-Medium (size 3) for a more precise fit. The Ripley now offers five sizes to better match rider proportions.

Flip It
A flip chip lets riders run 29" wheels or a mixed 29"/27.5" MX setup without compromising geometry. The Ripley ships with 29" wheels.

DW-Link Suspension
The dw-link suspension platform delivers efficient climbing and confident descending. Size-specific kinematics keep every frame size pedaling efficiently while staying smooth on rough trails.

Internal Frame Storage
Carry tools and snacks inside the frame with a water-resistant, rattle-free storage system. The easy-to-use latch works even with gloves in cold or muddy conditions. Includes two Cotopaxi-made storage bags crafted from remnant materials.

Where The Ripley Excels

• Flow trails and rolling singletrack
• Technical climbs and varied trail terrain

Built To Fly
Ibis Cycles started in 1981 when founder Scot Nicol opened a tiny workshop near Mendocino, California, with no big plan beyond building mountain bikes that were fun to ride and tough enough for the rough stuff. Today, from its home base in Santa Cruz, Ibis remains a small, rider-owned company focused on doing a few things really well: designing carbon and aluminum mountain bikes that climb efficiently, descend playfully, and feel lively every time you point them down the trail. With long-time owners and in-house engineering still deeply involved in the day-to-day, the brand stands for bikes that are light, durable, and above all, a blast to ride—whether you are racing, lapping local trails, or just chasing that next perfect corner.
