Women's Gray Hiking & Climbing Pants

Climbing tights prioritize stretch and a close fit for dynamic moves, while full-length pants give extra coverage and protection for high-stepping on trails. Tights typically have higher elastane and opacity for bouldering, and models like the Prana Summit Pant offer breathable, flexible fabric that works for both indoor and outdoor climbing.

For taller hikers, longer inseams help prevent pants from riding up; many hiking styles come in 31 or 34-inch lengths. REI Sahara and similar zip-off pants offer 29–34 inch inseams and a relaxed fit, while those wanting a technical athletic cut should look for a higher back rise and articulated knees for comfort.

Check for reinforced panels, dense nylon or polyester weaves, and reinforced knees or seats, which all resist rock abrasion and repeated contact with hardware. Mammut alpine models often include crampon guards and harness-compatible construction that signal durability for technical routes.

Insulated pants add warmth for cold, snowy conditions, while a windproof membrane helps block biting gusts on exposed ridgelines and during high-speed descents. You can also layer a breathable shell over insulating midlayers; for warmer months look for lightweight 9.6 oz options that dry quickly.

Gusseted crotches, articulated knees, and harness-compatible pockets keep mobility and comfort while clipping and moving on routes. Chalk bag–friendly pockets, snap or drawstring hems to cinch cuffs, and thigh pockets make gear access easier without interfering with your harness.
