Orange Triathlon / TT Bike Tires

If you're chasing speed on smooth roads, tubeless TT tires are a solid choice because they let you run lower pressures for comfort and fewer pinch flats while still being lightweight. Remember to confirm tubeless-ready rims and bead compatibility, and note that race slicks can be ridden at very high PSI — for example 25mm tires are often pushed to 120+ PSI in traditional setups.

For most aero TT rims, 25mm or 28mm widths provide the low-profile shape aero engineers expect and keep drag down on tri bikes. Matching the tire to the rim’s internal width and checking ETRTO sizing like 700x25c helps ensure proper fit and predictable high‑PSI behavior.

Durable training options such as Gatorskins are built with thicker threads and puncture-resistant casings, so they handle glass and rough city surfaces better than race slicks. Expect a tougher bead-to-bead construction or Kevlar belts that trade a bit of suppleness for much longer life on mixed pavement.

Graphene-enhanced compounds improve wet grip and durability, so models like Vittoria’s graphene offerings perform well in variable weather and on wet roads. These materials are engineered to boost traction without adding excessive rolling resistance, which is why racers turn to Vittoria Corsa Speed G2.0 TLR for tricky conditions.

Yes, tubeless-ready tires require a compatible rim profile and proper bead seating to form an airtight seal, so check your rim’s tubeless compatibility and the tire’s bead spec before mounting. Also verify ETRTO size (for example 700x25c) and consider whether your rim and tire combination is rated for the high PSI common with TT-focused slicks.
