Toddler Girls' Blue Board Shorts

For all-day water fun, go with quick-dry, moisture-wicking shorts made from 100% polyester or polyester blends to speed evaporation. Styles with UPF 50+ sun protection and a full elastic waistband, like Columbia Sandy Shores with strong moisture-wicking, work well for long hours at the shore or pool.

Most toddler and youth styles are pull-on with full elastic waistbands and adjustable ties, so sizing from 2T up to 14 usually prioritizes comfort and room to grow. If your child is between sizes, choose the larger size for extended wear and look for models sold in 3-packs for easy rotation.

Shorts that include spandex or elastane in the polyester blend provide added stretch and better shape retention for active play. These fabrics help the shorts move with your child during running and water games without feeling restrictive.

UPF 50+ fabric blocks roughly 98% of UV rays, significantly reducing sun exposure on covered areas during beach days. Combine UPF shorts with sunscreen on exposed skin and a hat for the best overall sun protection.

Unlined cover-ups dry faster and are often lighter for quick transitions between water and sand, making them a good choice for frequent dips. For extra sun-safe coverage or modesty during longer beach days, consider lined options like the RuffleButts UPF50+ board shorts with a full lining and elastic waist.
