Kids Gray' Accessories

Match the pack to the child's torso and planned load, prioritizing adjustable sternum straps, a soft waist belt, and a supportive framesheet for comfort. Models like the Osprey Jet 18 provide an 18L capacity with a framesheet, sternum strap, and waist belt, while the Deuter Kikki offers a simple, colorful option for lighter days.

Full-body harnesses are usually the safest choice for very young climbers because they distribute weight and reduce inversion risk while offering secure fit. The Edelrid Fraggle II is a plush full-body option designed for kids six and under with multi-point adjustments and soft padding for comfort.

Choose hats and sunglasses made from UPF-protective textiles with a wide brim or neck coverage to guard delicate skin during long sunny days. Baby “block-the-sun” hats and lightweight neckwear are great for infants, and many kids’ sun hats pair well with kids’ sunglasses for extra eye protection.

Start with a next-to-skin merino layer and add thicker wool or insulated socks when temperatures drop to manage moisture and warmth. Smartwool merino socks work well as a base, and pairing them with a fleece beanie provides lightweight warmth without bulk.

Snowshoes are easier for very young kids and off-trail exploration because they provide flotation and stability on uneven snow. Starter snowboards suit older beginners who want to learn sliding and turning on gentle slopes, and either option pairs well with winter gloves or insulated mittens for warmth and grip.
