Yellow Gravel & Cyclocross Cockpit

Flared gravel bars add stability and control on mixed terrain, while narrower cyclocross bars prioritize quick handling and cleaner lines through mud and corners. Models like the PRO Discover offer shallow drops around 120–130mm for consistent positioning on long rides, whereas cyclocross-oriented bars keep a tighter profile for racing.

For a medium frame with reach 459–462mm and stack 663–669mm, a mid-length stem with a 6–12° angle balances comfort and steering precision. Small changes in stem length let you fine-tune reach without undoing the bike’s longer gravel wheelbase of about 1037–1057mm.

Gravel setups typically allow much wider tire clearance—up to about 50mm—compared to cyclocross frames that top out nearer 38mm. That extra room pairs well with flared bars and relaxed geometry to give more stability and comfort on rough roads.

Integrated cockpits are useful for endurance gravel and bikepacking because internal cable routing and on-stem mounts keep the front end tidy; systems like the Syncros Fraser feature that internal routing. They often use carbon construction for lighter weight, so consider serviceability and accessory mounting needs on long trips.

Carbon handlebars such as Roval models are designed to absorb trail vibration and are available in lightweight options under 300g, improving comfort on rough sections. In addition, flared drops and shallow 120–130mm drop profiles help control and reduce hand fatigue on bumpy terrain.
