Gray Enduro Full Suspension Bike Frames

Generally, pick the suspension layout based on how you ride: VPP setups like the FS831 VPP emphasize traction and pedaling efficiency on technical climbs and descents, while four-bar linkages tend to offer balanced mid-stroke support and more tunable progression. Single-pivot frames are simpler and often easier to service, and most enduro frames here are built around about 170mm of rear travel for aggressive terrain.

Carbon frames are best when you want lower weight, increased stiffness, and extra vibration damping — many carbon builds pair a carbon rear triangle with reinforced joints for tight tolerances. Aluminum is more impact-tolerant for rough hits, often using 7075 T6 pivot hardware; a frame like the Frameworks Enduro combines 170mm travel with a carbon rear triangle to balance durability and performance.

If you ride steep, technical terrain, look at frames with slack head angles (around 63–65 degrees) and a steep seat tube (76–78 degrees) to keep stability downhill without killing climbing efficiency. Sizes run S through XL, and a size L often features about a 480mm reach to help you stay centered on the bike.

A mullet setup can be a great compromise: the 29-inch front wheel improves rollover and stability at speed while the 27.5-inch rear keeps the bike nimble and easier to swing through tight corners. Models like the Yeti SB160 use similar geometry (a 63.5-degree head angle and ~480mm reach) to capitalize on that mix for aggressive trail and enduro riding.

Expect roughly 170mm of rear travel on purpose-built enduro frames, with common shock sizing around 230x65mm to match that range and provide consistent leverage curves. Many frames also support mixed-wheel setups and feature adjustable-travel shocks or tuning to tailor plushness and pedaling efficiency.
