Kuat Overlanding

Frequently Asked Questions

• What is the IBEX truck bed rack system and what is it best suited for?

The IBEX is a modular aluminum truck bed rack engineered for overlanding, adventure hauling, and professional use, featuring a ballistic black powder coat for weather resistance. It supports a static capacity of about 1,200 lbs and a dynamic capacity near 300 lbs, and is designed to carry bikes, cargo trays, and expedition gear while allowing flexible mounting via multiple T‑channels.
• How do I choose the right IBEX frame size and height for my truck?

Choose the IBEX frame size to match your truck model—Küat offers six frame sizes and short- and long‑bed options to fit most beds—then pick full‑height for tall gear or mid‑height for lower-profile loads. Use the IBEX’s telescoping crossbars to fine‑tune width for narrow or wide beds and confirm fit with your bed rails and tonneau before ordering accessories.
• Can the IBEX be used with tonneau covers and which covers are compatible?

Yes, IBEX is compatible with retractable covers such as RetraxOne and Retrax Pro XR, and its T‑channels and telescoping crossbars are designed to clear many retractable tonneau systems. Always verify your specific tonneau model and mounting points so the rack clears the cover travel and latching hardware.
• How does the IBEX compare to Küat’s hitch‑mounted NV 2.0 or Piston Pro X bike racks?

The IBEX is a truck‑bed platform built for multi‑purpose hauling and expedition gear, offering higher payload capacity and more mounting real estate, while the NV 2.0 and Piston Pro X are purpose‑built hitch racks focused on fast, secure bike transport and easy hitch‑side access. Choose IBEX if you need a versatile cargo and accessory platform; choose NV 2.0/Piston Pro X if you primarily carry bikes and want a compact hitch solution.
• What accessories and mounting options are available for IBEX for overlanding and bike transport?

IBEX features numerous T‑channels and accessory mounting points that accept cargo trays, bike mounts, tie‑downs, and roof‑style gear attachments, enabling a customized overlanding setup. Its modular design and telescoping crossbars let you configure the rack for bikes, rooftop tents or cargo systems while keeping options open for future accessories.
