Big Agnes developed the Battle Mountain 2 Tent in close collaboration with Chhiring Dorje Sherpa, a mountaineer who has stood on top of Everest seventeen times, and that partnership shows in every detail of the design. The golden yellow fly is more than a visual statement. It is a tribute to Miyo Losangma, the Tibetan Buddhist goddess of prosperity and good fortune, who is said to inhabit Everest itself, and it is made from Dominico undyed polyester ripstop woven with high-tenacity yarn that increases tear strength by 20 to 25 percent over standard ripstop fabrics.
When conditions turn serious, the Battle Mountain earns its name. The fly carries a silicone treatment plus a 1200mm PU coating, while the floor steps up to a 10,000mm waterproof rating that keeps groundwater out even when you are camped on a snow platform. Two vestibules give you room to manage gear and wet layers without bringing the outside in, and the double-zipper doors include a mesh-only ventilation option for warmer nights and a full nylon closure when the temperature drops. DAC Twist clips attach the tent body to the pole frame fast, even with gloved hands, and the high and low internal guy loops add the structural stability you need when the wind starts loading up the fabric. Pre-cut guylines and tensioners come ready to stake out right out of the bag, because on a big mountain, the last thing you want to be doing is rigging gear from scratch in deteriorating weather.
