Dropping into a deep bowl and then charging a tree run to the bottom asks a board to float first and turn quickly second, and the Backwoods Snowboard from Weston is a freeride snowboard shaped for both. The tapered directional shape pairs a wide nose and a tapered tail with a setback stance, so the nose planes up in deep snow and drag stays low. Two carbon stringers run tip to tail through a poplar and bamboo core, adding pop and energy transfer without piling on weight.
