Troy Lee Designs' A3 MIPS is built for exactly that range, with extended coverage along the temples and base of the head that goes meaningfully further than a standard trail helmet without adding the weight and restriction of a full chin bar.
The polycarbonate shell handles initial impact while the EPS foam layer underneath absorbs the force, and MIPS technology addresses the rotational forces that straight-impact ratings don't capture. Sixteen vents keep the helmet working for you on hot climbs, and positioned foam wicks sweat through long efforts. The rear stabilizer fit system dials in a secure, customized fit, and the three-position adjustable visor shields eyes from debris and glare while engineering a clean break away from the helmet through a crash to reduce impact forces.
