Polar Ranger Sleeping Bag delivers expedition-level warmth for extreme cold

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"I’ve never used another bag that manages extreme cold as confidently as the Polar Ranger. The snorkel hood is genuinely effective, the side vents are surprisingly useful, and the down stays lofty even on multi-night trips. When temperatures plummet, this is the bag I trust."

We rely on the Polar Ranger Sleeping Bag when our routes lead into true winter environments where warmth, control, and protection dictate whether a night is comfortable or survivable. Built in collaboration with polar explorer Eric Larsen, the bag focuses on thermal efficiency through 800-fill hydrophobic down, a refined baffle layout, and a hood design that manages heat while routing moisture away from the insulation. Whether we’re camped in deep snow or tucked into a cold, windy basin, the Polar Ranger gives us confidence to rest through the long, frigid hours.

A stiff, condensation-resistant snorkel hood helps us breathe easily while sealing out drafts, and magnetic closure keeps adjustments simple with gloves. Side vents let us free our arms for camp tasks without exiting the warmth of the bag, while overlapping baffles prevent cold spots when everything is zipped tight. An insulated Toe-asis foot pocket warms cold feet quickly, and an interior stash pocket keeps batteries and essentials from freezing. The recycled shell and liner create a soft, durable outer layer built for extended winter use.

Three people stand on top of a desert rock formation under a clear blue sky, each holding up a different colored Therm-a-rest sleeping pad in front of their bodies.

Rest Better. Play Better.

In 1971, a mix of unemployed Boeing engineers, a leaky foam gardening pad, and the dream of better nights under the stars came together to create the world's first self-inflating sleeping pad. The rest, as they say, is history.
