The Scarpa Phantom 6000 HD Mountaineering Boot is built for exactly that exposure — technical routes in the Andes, the Alaskan Range, and the Canadian Rockies where cold, wind, and wet conditions test every layer of the system simultaneously. Lighter than the Phantom 8000L HD by several hundred grams, it's engineered for the alpinist who moves fast and commits fully, without surrendering the protection that high-altitude objectives demand.
The outer shell is constructed from Schoeller, KEVLAR, and Cordura — a combination built to deflect rock, ice, and debris on exposed terrain — and sealed with an HDry waterproof membrane and a Flexseal twisting zip closure that locks moisture out at the gaiter. Inside, a removable inner boot insulated with both Primaloft Black and Primaloft Gold Eco delivers serious warmth while staying compressible enough to stuff into a pack during hut sections or lower-altitude approaches. The Dyneema quick-lace system dials in fit precisely under crampons, the HAR6 last is shaped for technical crampon work, and the Vibram Precision Tech Roll AC sole provides reliable purchase on firm snow and ice. Carbon fiber and Aerogel in the footbed add insulation from the ground up while keeping weight where it needs to be for a boot at this level.
