Adventure-ready Fargo Apex 1 built for rugged touring and trail wandering

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"I’ve taken the Fargo Apex 1 on everything from gravel overnighters to long mixed-terrain routes, and it’s one of the most confidence-inspiring adventure bikes out there. The steel frame smooths out rough sections, the Firestarter 110 fork handles loaded steering better than you’d expect, and the Apex 1 drivetrain gives me the gear range I need for climbs with weight. It’s a rig I trust when the route turns unpredictable."

We turn to the Fargo Apex 1 when the adventure ahead demands a bike that blends durability, comfort, and adaptability. Its triple-butted CroMoly frame and Firestarter 110 fork deliver a smooth, controlled ride across washboard gravel, chunky forest tracks, and long stretches of remote dirt. Massive tire clearance and stable geometry help keep us comfortable when the hours start adding up and the terrain keeps changing.

With its Alternator 1.5 dropouts, this build invites experimentation—geared, single-speed, or drivetrain swaps for new explorations. SRAM’s Apex 1 drivetrain offers a wide-range 11–42t cassette for sustained climbs, while ample rack and bottle mounts let us load up for multi-day trips. From rugged bikepacking loops to all-surface touring, the Fargo Apex 1 is a companion that encourages us to roam freely and discover the terrain that inspires us most.

Heads up - We do our best to keep bike specs and images current, but occasional component changes can happen without warning-and sometimes the photos might not show the exact build you'll receive. If you want to double-check the details, our Gearheads are always here to help.
