Grade VII Down Parka delivers expedition-level warmth in a storm-ready build

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"This is the warmest parka I’ve ever used. The Grade VII has saved me on freezing belays in the Canadian Rockies and while camping at 17,000 feet. It’s overbuilt in all the best ways—lofted warmth, stormproof shell, and the hood fits over my alpine helmet without restricting vision. It’s serious gear for serious cold."

The Grade VII Down Parka isn’t just built for winter—it’s built for the unforgiving conditions of the world’s highest, coldest, and most remote peaks. Patagonia worked hand-in-hand with alpine athletes to create a parka that does more than withstand the elements—it lets us thrive in them. Whether we’re belaying on an icy face or settling in for a bivy high above basecamp, the Grade VII is our final line of defense against the cold.

Fully baffled and packed with 900-fill-power down, this parka delivers maximum loft and eliminates cold spots, while a stitch-free liner cinches close to the body to trap every ounce of heat. The helmet-compatible, insulated hood and draft collar block wind and snow at the summit, and a two-way Vislon® zipper backed by draft tubes seals in warmth. External and internal pocket systems keep gear close, while smartly engineered stretch cuffs and a hem-sealing gasket stop icy drafts in their tracks. All of this performance comes in a Fair Trade Certified™ build using recycled nylon and PFAS-free DWR finishes for durability with less environmental impact.
