DAS Light Pants provide warm-when-wet performance and easy layering for committed routes
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"I bring these on every winter climbing trip because they act like a sleeping bag for my legs. They slide on over boots with no drama, and the PlumaFill insulation stays warm even after wet belays or spindrift-soaked transitions."
We count on the DAS Light Pants when long routes demand dependable warmth in stormy, unpredictable alpine weather. From wind-loaded belays to quick transitions in spindrift, these pants provide a surge of heat without slowing our pace. Patagonia designed them to move easily over layers and to pack down small, making them a reliable part of our system for high-exposure terrain.
The ultralight recycled nylon ripstop shell offers essential weather resistance, while PlumaFill insulation maintains loft and warmth even when damp. Innovations in internal quilting stabilize the insulation with minimal stitching, creating consistent heat across the full length of the leg. Full-length side zippers allow us to pull them on or off while wearing crampons or boots, and elastic cuffs keep them positioned securely over technical footwear. In cold, unpredictable environments, the DAS Light Pants help us stay efficient and ready for the next pitch.
