Nitro Ripper x Volcom Snowboard is a fun, progression-driven kids’ twin with a forgiving flex and flat-rocker profile for building all-mountain and park confidence
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"This board nails the balance for kids who are learning fast—it’s soft enough to stay forgiving, but still stable for carving. The flat-rocker profile really reduces edge catches, and the Volcom graphics don’t hurt either. It’s the kind of board that makes groms excited to ride every day."
Who It’s For
Beginner to Intermediate Young Riders:
Perfect for groms just starting out or those taking their first laps through the park.
What It’s For
Progression Across Park and All-Mountain:
The Ripper x Volcom combines a soft youth-specific flex with Nitro’s catch-free Flat-Out Rocker, helping kids link turns, ride switch, and start pressing into freestyle terrain.
Why We Like It
Kid-Focused Performance:
We like this board because it isn’t just a scaled-down adult deck—it’s built specifically for younger riders. With an easy-to-maintain base, reliable poplar core, and forgiving sidecut, it gives kids everything they need to progress without holding them back.

Forever Snowboarding
Developed by snowboarders for snowboarders in 1900, Nitro leads with passion, innovation, and responsibility for community and the planet.
Phantom Glide By DPS Skis
This snowboard is compatible with Phantom Glide, the long-lasting base treatment from DPS Skis. Backcountry technicians apply and UV-cure it before the board ships, so it arrives ready to ride with no waxing needed.
How It Works
Applied By Backcountry Techs
Backcountry technicians treat and UV-cure every board in the shop before it leaves the warehouse, so it arrives ready to ride with no setup required.
Glide That Outlasts Wax
Wax sits on top of the base and wears off in a few days. Phantom Glide bonds into the base, so glide stays fast and consistent from cold powder to spring slush.
No More Wax Days
Phantom Glide replaces scraping, ironing, and shop visits with a quick base cleaning using the Phantom Glide Base Care Kit. The formula is made without PFAS.
