Dry.Q technology is a proprietary membrane developed by Mountain Hardwear that makes jackets both waterproof and breathable. This means that while the jacket keeps rain and snow out, it also allows sweat and moisture to escape. This is crucial for activities like skiing and snowboarding, as it helps you stay dry and comfortable, enhancing your overall experience in the outdoors.

RDS stands for Responsible Down Standard, which ensures that the down used in jackets is sourced ethically. This certification guarantees that the ducks or geese are treated humanely and not subjected to harmful practices. Choosing RDS-certified down means you’re getting high-quality insulation that keeps you warm while also supporting ethical treatment of animals.

Fill power measures the loft or fluffiness of down insulation. A 650-fill power indicates good quality down that provides excellent warmth without adding excessive weight. This means you can enjoy a lightweight jacket that keeps you warm during cold weather, making it ideal for outdoor adventures.

A helmet-compatible hood is designed to fit comfortably over a ski or snowboard helmet. This feature allows you to stay protected from wind and snow while wearing your helmet, ensuring safety during winter sports. It’s an essential feature for anyone serious about skiing or snowboarding, as it combines comfort and protection.

Underarm zippered vents are openings located under the arms of the jacket that can be opened or closed as needed. They allow for increased airflow, helping to regulate your body temperature. If you start to feel too warm while skiing or snowboarding, you can easily unzip these vents to release heat, making the jacket versatile for varying weather conditions.

Absolutely! While the jacket is designed with features that cater to skiing and snowboarding, such as the helmet-compatible hood and underarm vents, it is also suitable for a variety of outdoor activities like hiking, snowshoeing, or even casual winter outings. Its waterproof and breathable properties make it a great choice for any cold, wet environment.
