Low-cut hiking shoes often ask you to choose between protection and breathability, delivering one at the expense of the other. The La Sportiva Spire GTX Hiking Shoe refuses that compromise, pairing ePE GORE-TEX Surround technology with Nano-Cell 2.0 construction to move heat and moisture away from your foot in all directions, including from underneath, where most waterproof shoes trap warmth entirely.
The abrasion-resistant mesh upper keeps the shoe light and ventilated while PU TechLite reinforcements at the toe and heel protect against the rock strikes and edge impacts that come with technical terrain. The STB control system integrates the GORE-TEX Surround ventilation outlets into a structure that fits snugly and stably without sacrificing the breathability the whole system is built around. Underfoot, compression-molded EVA with TPU inserts delivers cushioning and support through long days on trail, and the Vibram XS Trek outsole with Impact Brake System uses slanted and opposing lug angles to grip on the way up and brake on the way down.
