The Hydra Grade 300 v2 29in is built for riders who want absolute confidence when terrain gets big, fast, and unforgiving. Designed around DH, park, and E-MTB abuse, this wheelset levels up alloy performance with a hollow bead wall that distributes impacts and reduces the pinch points typically found on standard hook-style rims. Wider bead walls and a triple cavity rim structure deliver a level of strength, dent resistance, and stability that feels more like modern carbon but with the serviceability and reliability of premium alloy.

At the heart of the build is Industry Nine’s Hydra system: a six-pawl, 690-point freehub offering a staggering .52° of engagement for borderline telepathic control. Technical climbing on an E-MTB, line-snapping through rock gardens, or micro-adjusting at downhill speed—all of it feels immediate. The 32h chassis, matched with I9’s one-piece aluminum spokes threaded directly into the hubshell, creates a torsionally stiff, flex-free interface that accelerates fast and remains composed on massive compressions.
