The XP designation stands for Xtra Protection, and it means exactly that: additional reinforcement under the tread and throughout the sidewalls to guard against the cuts, impacts, and abrasion that accumulate on rough pavement, sharp gravel, and the kind of mixed terrain where pushing lower pressures and higher speeds increases the risk of sidewall damage. Built on the proven Getaway tread pattern that handles hardpack, intermediate gravel, and firm to loose dirt with consistent confidence, the XP version adds a meaningful durability layer without sacrificing the handmade ride quality that defines Challenge's construction philosophy.

The 260TPI Super Polyester casing delivers the suppleness and compliance that Challenge's handmade PRO series is known for, and the XP sidewall reinforcement builds on that foundation rather than compromising it. SMARTplus compound adds cut resistance and longer-lasting tread edges specifically tuned for the demands of rough and variable gravel terrain, staying sharper and gripping more predictably as mileage accumulates through a hard season of riding. PPS2 double-layer puncture protection adds two tightly-woven fabric barriers between the tread and casing for significantly enhanced flat resistance on the sharp and debris-heavy surfaces where this tire belongs. Available in 700x40C and 700x45C, both sizes run tubeless on hookless compatible rims, and Challenge Smart Tubeless Sealant is recommended for optimal airtight setup.
