Women's Blue Paddling Clothing

For cold, wet, or rough conditions a drysuit or dry top is usually best because they keep water out with fully taped waterproof constructions and 10,000mm+ waterproof-breathable ratings, and Kokatat dry tops are a strong example of breathable protection. Wetsuits or neoprene thermal tops with 3–5mm thickness provide direct insulation when you want warmth from the suit itself rather than a dry barrier.

Sizing in women's paddling gear should balance a snug fit with full mobility; choose women's-specific cuts with articulated elbows and knees and stretchy fabrics so you can complete full arm strokes without excess material under your PFD. Check layered sizing from XS to 3XL and opt for a form-fitting but non-restrictive size to reduce water entry and improve comfort.

Most paddling tops offer UPF 50+ sun protection, and models like Vaikobi UV paddling tops include anti-chafe panels that keep you comfortable on long outings. Quick-dry nylon or polyester blends further help by wicking moisture and drying fast between sessions.

PFDs are made for all paddling activities but vary in cut and buoyancy to match the sport; look for ASTM-rated buoyancy in the 15.5–22 lb range depending on whether you need extra flotation for surfski or a slimmer profile for SUP and touring. Many styles also integrate CE-approved impact protection or sport-specific pocket layouts, so pick one that balances mobility, flotation, and the features you’ll use most.

Durable paddling bottoms use abrasion-resistant panels on knees and seats along with reinforced seams and cuffs to resist wear from repeated contact and use. Quick-dry nylon/polyester blends and targeted reinforcement in high-wear areas help garments last longer while staying light and comfortable on the water.
