Women's Green Mountaineering Boots

Lightweight single, three-season boots are ideal for summer alpine rock routes. Models like the La Sportiva Trango Tech GTX offer the agility needed and often weigh under 3 lbs per pair.

Check for a rigid welt and a B3 or B2 stiffness rating to accept automatic crampons. The La Sportiva Nepal Cube GTX is an example of a fully rigid, B3-style boot built for automatic-crampon use.

For insulated winter boots it's common to size to accommodate thicker socks while keeping a snug, broken-in feel; medium-volume fits and a heel-lock help prevent heel lift. Gore-Tex Insulated Comfort linings add warmth when you need the extra sock thickness.

Stiff soles with a full shank provide the support and edge control needed on steep ice and technical terrain. Look for Vibram outsoles paired with a B2 or B3 stiffness rating, with B3 delivering the most rigidity for ice tool and crampon work.

Treat leather with appropriate cleaners and conditioners and renew the DWR on Gore-Tex or hybrid uppers periodically to maintain water-shedding performance. Also clean grit from Vibram soles and inspect metal grommets so boots like the Scarpa Mont Blanc Pro GTX last through winter use.
