Tenacious Tape is a no-sew, instant waterproof option for quick field patches; apply it with at least 1 inch overlap and round the corners for best durability. Tear Aid Type A, which Big Agnes recommends, bonds well to polyurethane and silicone-coated fabrics and handles repeated flexing on backcountry tents.

On the trail you'll want a pole splint plus matching sleeves or ferrules and replacement shock cord to restore strength and alignment. Make sure sleeves are slightly larger than the pole and match common diameters (8–12mm), and consider a 25-foot shock cord kit for 1–2 person tents.

Measure the old zipper and note your tent's year, make, and model before ordering a replacement, since sizes differ by design. FixNZip screw-on zipper models can simplify swaps, but confirm the zipper size matches your original to ensure smooth operation.

Canvas repairs perform best with vinyl cement and purpose-cut patches; choose a kit that includes SX69 or HH-66 vinyl cement plus rollers and cutting tools for a proper bond. These adhesives are designed for heavy canvas and work with floor patches that cover the tear plus the recommended 1 inch overlap.

Event setups commonly require crown kits, corner straps, pins, pipes, and keder cord for secure framing, with keder rails often at 11mm and leg plugs around 2 inches for precise fits. Stainless steel grommets and a durable repair kit like the Central Tent Grommet Repair Kit help keep heavy-use tarps and commercial awnings serviceable.
