Blue Splitboard Skins

Nylon gives the most traction for steep or icy lines, while mohair excels at lightweight glide on long tours. A 65/35 mohair-nylon blend balances both, and models like the Pomoca Glide 300 (65% mohair/35% nylon) offer lighter weight with decent grip.

Trim universal skins to match your board’s waist width and cut length to full nose-to-tail coverage to avoid overhang or gaps. Pre-cut skins remove the guesswork, but universal options let you fine-tune fit to your board’s specific waist and tail geometry.

Skins with hybrid adhesives and reinforced glue undersides reduce peeling, and splitboard-specific nose/tail clips or hook kits help keep the centerline secure. The Contour Hybrid, for example, pairs compact packing with a hybrid adhesive and clip-compatible attachments designed for split geometry.

Mohair or high-mohair blends pack smallest and are ideal for long lightweight tours because they cut bulk and lower drag on skin tracks. For example, the Pomoca Glide 300 weighs about 239 g per skin (145 mm x 150 cm) and delivers strong glide around 46 g/cm2 for efficient touring.

For durability, nylon offers the best abrasion resistance and is preferable for frequent, technical skin tracks, while mohair will wear faster but provides superior glide. Reinforced edges and quality glue pads extend lifespan, and full-nylon options like the G3 Universal are built for long-lasting grip in variable conditions.
