Yellow Snowboard Helmets

For resort riders who stick to groomers, in-mold helmets with EPS foam offer lightweight protection and work well for piste days and kids. If you ride steep lines or venture off-piste, hardshell ABS or hybrid designs like Salomon's hybrids give tougher resistance to rocks and branches.

For touring you want ultralight construction and adjustable ventilation to manage heat on long ascents, since backcountry and touring helmets emphasize low weight and airflow. Removable liners and fit systems like BOA dials or rear wheels make transitions easier and many touring options use in-mold EPS to keep weight down.

Sizing starts by measuring head circumference in centimeters and matching the range—S (51-55 cm), M (55-59 cm), L (59-63 cm)—to avoid pressure points. Try helmets with adjustable liners, BOA dials, or rear wheels and check whether the helmet geometry suits your oval or round head shape for a snug, comfortable wrap.

Many park riders prefer soft shell EPP helmets because the EPP foam recovers from multiple low-impact hits common in freestyle and rail sessions. Brands like Anon build freestyle-specific shells with durable outer layers and removable liners that stand up to repeated impacts and stay easy to clean.

Look for ASTM F2040 and CE EN1077 ratings—Class A for full coverage or Class B for more ventilation—and consider Snell RS-98 if you want a rigorous multi-impact standard. Also check for MIPS or similar systems that allow about 10–15 mm of relative movement to reduce rotational forces, plus features like RECCO reflectors or integrated audio if those matter to you.
