Orange Neck Protection

Fit depends on the product type: stretchy knit gaiters are usually one-size-fits-most and often include an adjustable drawcord for a snug fit, while rigid collars and braces require precise neck circumference measurements (commonly 13–18 inches). Pay attention to geometry too—low-profile designs help with helmet compatibility and ergonomic contours reduce chafing.

For high-heat work, aluminized hoods and arc-flash kits are designed to reflect radiant heat and meet industry arc-flash ratings, with ATPV values commonly in the 8–40 cal/cm² range. These pieces use heat-reflective fabrics and layered construction so you can prioritize the appropriate ATPV rating for your specific exposure.

Cut-resistant options built with Dyneema can offer slash protection suited to security or industrial use, and some models carry ANSI/ISEA 105 level A4–A5 cut ratings. For hands-free, face-and-neck coverage you can consider pieces like the Buff Safety Cut-Resistant Gaiter, which balances protection with breathable polyester blends.

If you plan to wear a helmet, look for helmet-integrated collars or low-profile designs with ergonomic contours to avoid restricted movement; models like the Kapsul Collar are specifically marketed for brain and neck strain support in helmeted activities. Also consider impact-absorption specs—racing braces such as the NecksGen Neck Brace cite measurable reduction in peak loads—to match the level of protection you need.

Many multifunctional gaiters are designed to serve 12+ uses and are made from polyester-spandex blends that breathe while blocking sun and wind; several carry UPF 50+ ratings for reliable sun protection. They also cover a wide temperature range (roughly −20°F to 120°F) and often include antimicrobial treatments to help with repeated use.
