Start by matching the wheel diameter stamped on the tire—26", 27.5" (650b), or 29"—and then pick a tube width range that covers your tire, for example a 26x1.75/2.1 tube fits 1.75–2.1" tires. Tubes are generally safe with about a +/-10% width variance, so check the tire sidewall (like 29x2.25) and select the closest tube size to avoid excess tension or bunching.
