Men's Purple Swim Trunks

For most body types mid-thigh lengths around 5–7 inches give balanced coverage, while 9–11 inch board shorts sit near the knee for taller builds. Models like the Rhone 5.5-inch R&R Trunk show how a slightly shorter inseam creates a flattering athletic silhouette.

Lined trunks include a mesh liner so you can skip underwear, while unlined shorts dry faster and feel lighter. Lululemon's linerless short is a solid option if rapid drying and versatile wear are top priorities.

Board shorts at a 9–11 inch inseam are ideal for surfing because they offer extra coverage and abrasion resistance for repeated use. Hybrids or performance shorts with four-way stretch are a good alternative when you want mobility for paddle sports.

Jammers and swim briefs both reduce drag, but jammers give more compression and coverage for training sets while briefs and square-leg shorts suit sprint racing with minimal resistance. Performance tech shorts with compression fits are designed specifically to support repeated lap work.

Lightweight polyester and nylon blends with quick-dry finishes pack small and shed water quickly, and many unlined styles dry in under an hour. For travel-ready options, hybrids and quick-dry models like the Fair Harbor Bayberry Trunk combine fast wicking with vacation-ready styling.
