Men's Blue Snowboard Jackets

Insulated jackets are best for cold climates and all-day resort riding because they provide built-in warmth; models like the Burton [ak] Swash use 60g PrimaLoft to hold heat. Shell jackets, such as 2L or 3L GORE-TEX options, give layering flexibility for variable conditions or higher-output days.

For backcountry touring, prioritize stretch shells and high breathability to move efficiently on skinups and steep descents; stretch blends like those in the Jones Shralpinist improve mobility. Lightweight 3L shells such as the Patagonia SnowDrifter with H2No are good examples of breathable, packable protection.

Try jackets with articulated geometry and a bit of room through the chest and shoulders so you can add a midlayer without bulk, and pay attention to drop-tail hems for extra coverage. Sizing generally runs true-to-size in brands like Burton and Patagonia, but try one on to confirm hood and shoulder fit.

Waterproof and breathability numbers help match a jacket to conditions: aim higher for harsh weather with 20K/20K or 30K/30K results and look for breathability in the 10K–30K g/m²/24hr range for sustained exertion. Budget or casual options such as the 686 Waterproof Hoody use 10K/10K infiDRY, while premium pieces often use 2L or 3L GORE-TEX.

If you ride all day, prioritize a powder skirt, pit zips for ventilation, multiple pockets, and a helmet-compatible hood to stay comfortable from first chair to last run. Fleece-lined or lightly insulated options like the 686 Waterproof Hoody add on-mountain warmth, while the Burton [ak] Swash pairs 60g PrimaLoft with waterproof GORE-TEX for colder resort days.
