Men's White Neckwear

Match your tie blade to your collar and frame: classic wide blades span the 2–6 inch range and suit fuller frames and spread collars, while slim blades give a narrower, modern profile. A standard necktie around 2–3.5 inches is a versatile choice that will drape over the chest without looking bulky.

For office and business-casual settings, standard or slim neckties work well—slim ties lean modern while a 2–3.5 inch standard necktie fits traditional offices. Save bow ties, such as the diamond point bow tie, for black-tie affairs or for a deliberately dressed-up casual look.

Knit ties and wool options tend to hold shape and resist wrinkles more than delicate silk, so they’re good for daily wear and travel. Also look for construction details like hand-stitched edges or textured weaves, which add durability and help a tie keep its form.

Most bow ties and ascots adjust via neck straps or self-tie methods to match your neck circumference, while pre-tied styles use adjustable bands and slide clasps for ease. Trying a self-tie diamond point bow tie gives you control over knot tightness and placement near the throat, which changes how it sits.

Choose a knit tie or scarf when you want casual texture or extra warmth, since knits layer well in cooler weather and hold shape better than silk. Scarves and textured knit ties pair nicely with relaxed outfits, while silk or finely woven ties are the go-to for a satin-sheen, formal appearance.
