Men's Blue Hike & Camp Hoodies & Sweaters

Sun hoodies use tight-weave fabrics and UPF ratings to block UV while staying breathable, so they shield skin without trapping heat. Recycled polyester options wick moisture and dry quickly, making them a smart choice for summer hiking, trail running, and rock climbing.

Go with a slightly loose fit so you can layer a midlayer or shell underneath and keep full shoulder mobility while carrying a pack. Look for raglan sleeves to shift seams off the shoulders and pieces around 8 ounces or under if you want lightweight fleeces for ultralight trips.

Polyester sun hoodies and many lightweight fleeces are designed to dry quickly; recycled polyester models like the Outdoor Research Echo Hoodie can dry in under 10 minutes in the sun. That quick-dry performance plus moisture-wicking knit helps you stay comfortable during sweaty summer hikes or fast-paced approaches.

Thumb holes keep sleeves from riding up and add hand coverage, while ponytail ports let long hair fit comfortably under a hood. High collars and hoods provide extra neck and ear protection, though collars without zippers can limit airflow on steamy days.

Yes — raglan sleeves move shoulder seams away from pack straps and flatlock seams lie flat against skin, so both cut down on irritation during long carries. Also note that grid fleece construction offers high breathability with warmth similar to 100-weight fleece, giving a comfortable midlayer that won’t aggravate pressure points.
