Kids Yellow' Snowboard Gloves & Mittens

If warmth is your priority, mittens keep fingers together for maximum heat and work great for resort snowboarding, sledding, or frigid hikes. Full-finger gloves give better dexterity for pole control and gear handling, while split-finger mittens strike a middle ground for cold snowboarding that still needs moderate edge control.

Measure your child’s hand length and width against the size chart and note that youth sizes commonly fit kids 10+ years; prioritize a snug but not tight fit to hold heat without restricting movement. Wide openings, Velcro straps, or zippers make gloves easier to get on and off, and gauntlet cuffs help seal against snow.

Waterproof-breathable membranes like ePTFE or GORE-TEX block moisture while venting sweat, and pairing those with 3M Thinsulate gives good low-bulk warmth in damp conditions. For very dry cold, down offers high warmth-to-weight, but synthetic insulation holds up better when wet.

Gauntlet cuffs that extend over jackets add solid snow protection and help keep sleeves dry, and wrist leashes prevent lost mittens during breaks or on the chairlift. Burton mittens are a good example of models that combine extended cuffs with breathable waterproofing for active kids.

Reinforced palms and leather or synthetic patches increase abrasion resistance and protect key wear points from edges and falls, extending the glove’s life. Brands like Hestra and Viking use durable palm reinforcements and easy-entry designs so the gloves stay functional through repeated use.
