Kids Green' Snowboard Boots

A velcro strap design with a soft flex is easiest for beginners because it’s quick to put on and forgiving during first lessons. BOA systems, like the dual-zone dials found on some models, give tool-free, 1–2 mm precision ideal for progressing riders, while traditional laces offer a simple, adjustable fit for varied foot shapes.

Measure your child’s foot length in centimeters for the most accurate match to youth sizing, since kids sizes often run J1–J6 or US youth 1–7. Try boots on with thick socks, consider a half-size up for thicker liners, and look for adjustable cuffs and liners that accommodate one to two seasons of growth.

Softer flexes in the 2–4 out of 10 range are ideal for beginners because they make turning and balance easier, while a slightly firmer 3–5 flex helps kids push into park features and groomed runs. Models like the Burton Grom BOA sit around a soft 3/10, giving a nice balance of comfort and support for learning riders.

Heat-moldable liners are worth it if you want a custom fit that reduces hotspots and improves control; many liners used in kids’ boots are moldable and noticeably more comfortable. Expect about 1–2 hours for the molding process to set, and liners like Imprint 1 offer added warmth and a closer fit afterward.

Look for insulated liners rated for warmth down to around 20°F, durable PU or leather uppers with reinforced toes and heels, and EVA midsoles for cushioning during long sessions. A rubber outsole with 3–5 mm lugs improves traction on snow and ice, while sealed seams help keep feet dry through multiple seasons.
