Kids Gray' Ski Poles

Beginner and all-mountain poles are typically lightweight aluminum options that help kids learn technique and build confidence, while junior racing poles use stiffer construction and aerodynamic shapes to reduce wind resistance for slalom and giant slalom. Consider where your child skis most—recreational poles suit varied terrain, whereas racers need the responsiveness and gate clearance of competition shafts.

A proper fit means the pole should reach roughly to your child's armpit when standing upright, which for kids commonly falls between about 70 cm and 110 cm. Adjustable models often span 85 to 105 centimeters, making them useful as kids grow.

Adjustable poles work well for families because many models cover a wide range, often about 85 to 105 cm, so one pole can fit multiple children over time. If you want a lighter, precise fit choose a fixed-size pole; models like the K2 Sprout and Charm are popular entry-level options with ergonomic grips made for small hands.

Most kids' poles use aluminum for lightweight durability, and some blend in composite materials to improve shock absorption when they take impacts. Also check for secure ferrules at the tip and solid basket attachment, since many youth poles weigh roughly 200 to 300 grams per pair depending on length.

Smaller baskets are best for groomed runs because they reduce drag, while larger baskets help prevent sinking in powder or off-piste snow. Ergonomic grips and reliable loop or security straps keep poles attached to little hands, and LEKI Racing Kids models even feature the PAS V1 Security grip designed specifically for small hands.
