Girls' Hike & Camp Pants

Match the pant style to your activity and conditions: standard hiking pants or pull-ons are ideal for all-day trails, while zip-offs give quick convertibility for variable weather. Models like the Outdoor Voices RecTrek Zip-Offs offer 4-way stretch and convert to shorts for mixed-season use.

If you expect growth, choose styles with elastic, growth-friendly waists and check youth sizing ranges like 4–16 or XS–XXL. Also review inseam options—many list 24–28 inches—and look for gusseted crotches and articulated knees to keep mobility during scrambles.

Nylon or polyester blends with a touch of spandex deliver the best balance of durability and 4-way stretch for active use. Pair that with a DWR finish and UPF 50+ fabric to repel light moisture while keeping sun protection on sunny hikes.

Yes, zip-off legs make it easy to adapt from cool mornings to hot afternoons, and cargo pockets add the storage you need for multi-day essentials. For instance, REI Co-op Trailmade Pants use quick-dry nylon and provide UPF 50+ protection at about a 10 oz weight, so you get light, packable performance and pocket capacity.

Look for reinforced knees, a belay-compatible waist, and room for layering so the pants handle both climbing and cold campsites. The Wondery Isabel 3.0 Pants, for example, offer tall inseams and belay-ready waist details, plus scuff guards that extend durability on rough terrain.
