Boys' Purple Snowboard Jackets

Insulated jackets are best for cold, wet days because they use synthetic or down fill to trap heat, while breathable styles help manage sweat during active riding with ventilation zips. Think insulated for long lift rides and wet snow, and breathable if your child is doing high-energy park or slope laps.

Jackets rated around 10K provide reliable protection for most wet mountain conditions, and taped seams add extra water resistance. Models like the 686 Spindal use infiDRY 10K for durability, while GORE-TEX options handle sustained moisture better.

You want a roomy cut that allows a base layer and midlayer without being oversized, so the jacket keeps freedom of movement for tricks and falls. Look for articulated sleeves and helmet-compatible hoods to maintain mobility and fit, and growth adjustment systems if you want extended wear.

A solid powder skirt and sealed/taped seams are the most effective barriers against snow, and an integral helmet-compatible hood helps keep neck and head dry. Durable shells like GORE-TEX fabrics and designs from brands such as Volcom GTX Mountain pair those features for all-day riding.

Breathable fabrics and ventilation zips let sweat escape during intense runs, while lightweight insulation and articulated shaping maintain warmth without bulk. Burton Kids' DRYRIDE pieces are an example of jackets that balance breathable performance with weather resistance.
